Sports Coaching Group apprentice Jacob Allcock has achieved a Distinction in his Level 2 Community Activator Coach apprenticeship thanks to sister company Sportscape Education.
The award comes after Jacob studied for up to 18 months with Sportscape Education to achieve the high grade.
The Level 2 Community Activator Coach role encompasses promoting, delivering and coaching fun, inclusive activities that enable whole communities to shift their behaviour, adopt healthier lifestyles and remain active.
Throughout his apprenticeship, Jacob took modules covering key areas such as the benefits of physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices; the principles of behaviour change; leadership in sport and physical activity; and planning community-based events to increase participation.
But the journey doesn’t end with theory.
Sportscape’s approach is built on blended learning, apprentices experience a mix of face-to-face training, online modules, real-world coaching opportunities and tailored support to prepare for the end-point assessment.
The result is that coaches are ready to lead sessions for Sports Coaching Group.
For Jacob, who is pictured with Sportscape tutor Leigh Owens, earning a Distinction is evidence of his focus, professionalism and capability.
It means he has demonstrated high performance in practical coaching observations, a presentation, a panel interview and a rich portfolio of work.
Those elements are central to the apprenticeship standard and reflect the depth of development he’s achieved.
Congratulations to Jacob – and here’s to the active futures you’ll help create.
