About the Role  

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced sports professional to join our team in a full time coaching role within a rewarding and growing organisation. This position is ideal for someone with a strong interest in delivering high quality sporting provisions within primary school and community settings. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, high quality PE lessons in line with the National Curriculum, alongside providing PPA cover and CPD within primary schools. Additional responsibilities may include lunchtime clubs, after-school clubs, sports days, holiday camps, community events, and other opportunities. 

New starters will be fully supported through our company structure, including coaching support from our Head of Coaching and operational guidance from our Operations Manager to support school procedures and protocols.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Plan, organise, and deliver high quality PE and sports sessions 
  • Work effectively as part of a team to solve challenges and improve delivery 
  • Manage associated administrative duties 
  • Deliver extracurricular activities, including lunchtime and after-school clubs 

Essential Requirements 

  • A genuine interest in delivering a wide range of sports 
  • A passion for developing and inspiring young learners 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Relevant Coaching Experience (1 Year Minimum) 
  • The ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS 

Desirable (Not Essential) 

  • Valid DBS  
  • First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications 
  • Driving license or ability to travel between school locations 
  • Relevant Coaching Qualifications or Degrees

About the Role  

We are seeking passionate and qualified Swim Teachers to join our team at Sports Coaching Group. The role will take place in primary schools across Cheshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire with overtime opportunities in the evenings, weekends and during school holidays. The successful candidate will be delivering swim stages 1 to 4, aligned with swim England’s Learn to Swim scheme. 

Working hours are generally between 9am-3pm with some exceptions which would require a 4pm finish. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Plan, prepare, and conduct structured swimming lessons for students of varying ages and skill levels. Based around our Swimming stages. 
  • Teach fundamental swimming techniques, water safety skills, and stroke development in a progressive and age-appropriate manner. 
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and skill development. 
  • Provide individualised instruction and support to students, addressing their unique learning needs and challenges. 
  • Conduct assessments to track student progress. 
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during swimming lessons, adhering to established safety protocols and guidelines. 
  • Communicate effectively with students and parents providing updates on students’ progress and addressing any concerns. 
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in swimming instruction, incorporating innovative teaching methods into lessons. 

Requirements: 

Essential  

  • Valid level 2 swim teacher certification. 
  • The ability to gain an Enhanced DBS. 
  • Strong swimming skills and proficiency in various swim strokes and techniques. 
  • Previous experience teaching swimming lessons to children. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young learners. 
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for teaching swimming and water safety. 
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. 
  • Punctual, reliable, and a strong sense of responsibility. 
  • Ability to travel

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Childcare Provider to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment for children. This role requires a passion for working with young children and the ability to foster their development through play and structured activities. Split shift, Monday – Friday 7.30-8.30 and 3-6.

Main Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
  • Provide care for children’s basic needs, including meals, hygiene, and rest periods.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s progress and any concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organised environment that is conducive to learning and play.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and provide guidance in resolving conflicts among children.
  • Keep accurate records of children’s activities, behaviour, and any incidents that may occur.

Requirements: 

  • Previous experience in childcare or a related field is preferred but not essential.
  • A qualification in Early Childhood Education or Child Development would be advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with children and parents alike.
  • Patience, creativity, and adaptability in handling various situations that may arise during childcare.

About the Job: 

We are seeking enthusiastic and qualified lifeguards to join our team at Sports Coaching Group. As a Lifeguard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students participating in our swimming lessons. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee all water-related activities and maintain a secure environment during swimming lessons. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of participants during swimming lessons in our swimming pools. 
  • Enforce pool rules and regulations to maintain a safe and orderly environment. 
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of the swimming pool area and equipment. 
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, accidents, and incidents. 
  • Administer first aid as necessary. 
  • Assist swimming instructors in organising and conducting swimming lessons. 
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding swimming lesson schedules and safety protocols. 
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and any other relevant information. 
  • Collaborate with the coaching team to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. 
  • Participate in regular training and professional development sessions to enhance lifeguarding skills and knowledge. 

Requirements: 

Essentials  

  • Valid lifeguard certification from a recognised organisation. 
  • First Aid certifications. 
  • Strong swimming and water rescue skills. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure. 
  • Prior experience working with children.  
  • Flexibility to work varying hours and travel to different school locations. 
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential.

Chris Jones has become a shining example of dedication and development at Sports Coaching Group, rising through the ranks from apprentice to Head of Coaching (Extra-Curricular). 

Starting his journey in 2015 as a Level 2 Coaching Apprentice, Chris quickly demonstrated exceptional skills, a passion for coaching, and a commitment to nurturing young talent.

His hands-on approach and ability to inspire confidence in both students and colleagues saw him progress steadily within the organisation. 

Chris’s innovative ideas and leadership qualities played a pivotal role in shaping the extracurricular coaching programme, enhancing its quality and reach.

Now leading the team, Chris oversees a wide range of activities, ensuring they meet high standards and cater to diverse needs.
