Easter Holiday Clubs 2026: More than 700 sessions delivered for children by Sports Coaching Group across Cheshire and Staffordshire

Sports Coaching Group's Easter holiday clubs 2026

We want to say a big thanks to all parents and carers who sent their children who attended our Spring Into Action Holiday Clubs during the Easter holidays.

Once again we delivered a wide-reaching and impactful programme for children and families across the region.

During the past three weeks, hundreds of children have taken part in a packed schedule of activities, with 746 non-HAF sessions delivered across multiple venues.

Each session has been designed to combine physical activity with creativity and social interaction, ensuring children remain engaged, active, and supported throughout the holidays.

Alongside this, the organisation’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme has continued to play a vital role in supporting local communities.

By providing nutritious meals alongside structured activities, the programme, which has included Teen HAF, has helped promote both physical wellbeing and healthy routines during the school break.

Swimming has also been a key feature, with 114 sessions delivered, offering children the opportunity to build water confidence and develop essential life skills.

Meanwhile, 38 themed days, ranging from sports challenges to creative activities, gladiators to Nerf fun and jewellery-making, have brought variety and excitement to each venue, giving children something new to look forward to each day.

In total, activity spanned 15 venues, reflecting the scale and coordination behind the programme.

Central to this success has been the commitment of coaching staff, whose energy and professionalism have ensured a safe and inclusive environment for every child.

And we would like to thank our partners including the schools where the clubs have been held, our new venue, Biddulph Youth and Community Zone, and Staffordshire County Council, Cheshire East and Cheshire West councils.

a special mention also to YouthZone, held at Sandbach SportsZone which was a venue for paid-for and HAF holiday clubs for teenagers.

While the numbers highlight the reach of the programme, the real impact lies in the experiences created, new friendships formed, confidence developed, and positive holiday memories that extend beyond the sessions themselves.

With Easter now complete, attention has already turned to the next phase.

Planning is underway for May, with further opportunities being developed to keep children active, social, and engaged outside of the school term.

Building on the success of the Easter provision, we are set to continue expanding our offer – reinforcing our role as a key provider of high-quality holiday activity programmes.
