Summer holiday clubs 2026: Everything parents need to know before your child attends Sports Coaching Group’s Great Summer Showdown

Advice for parents with children attending Sports Coaching Group's summer holiday camps

The summer holidays are almost here, and the countdown is on to an action-packed Great Summer Showdown with Sports Coaching Group.

From Tuesday, 21 July, children and teenagers across Cheshire and Staffordshire will be enjoying weeks of exciting sports, games, creative activities and unforgettable experiences at our popular summer holiday clubs.

With warm weather forecast, we’re reminding parents and carers to help children stay safe, comfortable and ready for a fantastic day of fun.

To make sure every child enjoys their day, please ensure you take note of the following advice:

What should children bring to Multi-sport and Activities?

  • ✅ Comfortable sports clothing suitable for active indoor and outdoor sessions;
  • ✅ Trainers;
  • ✅ A waterproof coat (just in case the British weather changes!);
  • ✅ A refillable water bottle;
  • ✅ A packed lunch and snacks (lunches are provided with children and Teens on the HAF programme);
  • ✅ Sun cream already applied, with additional sun cream if required;
  • ✅ A sun hat to stay protected during outdoor activities.

As temperatures are expected to be high, staying hydrated and protected from the sun is especially important throughout the day.

Sports Coaching Group runs holiday clubs at Holmes Chapel.

Important information for parents

To help us provide a safe environment for everyone:

  • Nut-free policy: We operate a strict NO NUT policy. Please ensure all food and snacks are completely nut-free;
  • Medication: If your child requires medication during the day, all medical information must be added during the booking process and coaches should also be informed again when dropping your child off;
  • Mobile phones: Children who need a phone for travelling home independently may bring one, but phones must be handed to staff at the beginning of the day and cannot be used during sessions;
  • Leave toys at home: There’s no need to pack toys or games. Every holiday club is packed with sports equipment, activities and entertainment to keep children busy from start to finish;
  • Lost property: While we do our best to return misplaced items, we cannot accept responsibility for lost belongings, so please ensure clothing and water bottles are clearly labelled.

Each week of our holiday clubs features exciting themed activity days inspired by performance, creativity and adventure:

  • Never Enough – Nerf Day
  • Come Alive – Crafts Day
  • The Gladiators Greatest Show – Gladiator Day
  • Be Like the Stars – Dance & Drama
  • A Million Experiments – Science Day
  • Barnum’s Bounce – Inflatable Day
