Sports Coaching Group was founded in 2011 and has grown from two employees coaching at a handful of schools to employing more than 80+ coaches at more than 100 schools across Cheshire, Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent and Shropshire.

It is part of the EMPHASIS Community Interest Company, with its sister organisation Sportscape Education.

Work includes providing breakfast, lunch and after-school clubs, #HAF provision, sports days, swimming lessons, well-being lessons in schools, assessment days, cover for teachers doing preparation work (PPA), help with teachers professional development (CPD) and supply cover.

As Government policy promotes at least two hours of PE per week, we offer curriculum-aligned sessions to ease schools’ workload. Whether your school needs CPD training, PPA cover, swimming lessons, or alternative provisions, SCG is here to help.

Each school we work for is different, so we pride ourselves in creating a bespoke service tailored to individual needs.

During school holidays our multi-sports and sport specific holiday clubs have been very popular.

We are proud to work in partnership with Cheshire East Council, Cheshire West and Chester, Staffordshire County Council and the Department for Education in providing #HAF provision during Easter, summer and Christmas holiday periods which involve sporting and enrichment activities to the local community.

We also teach swimming lessons at 100 schools through the Pools to YOU programme as well as private swimming lessons and fun pool sessions.

Pools to YOU removes travel barriers by bringing swimming lessons directly to your school.

With 70+ schools in Cheshire and Stoke-on-Trent already benefiting, 80% of 12,000 children have achieved a swimming award.

We pride ourselves on offering children new experiences and opportunities, which we hope will build a life-long love for sport and activities which will increase participation.
