As the school year comes to a close, we’re reflecting on an extraordinary 10 months of delivering swimming lessons through our Pools to YOU service – and the numbers speak for themselves.
Since September, our dedicated team has brought high-quality swimming instruction directly to 70 schools across the region.
With our fleet of 10 portable swimming pools, we’ve delivered lessons across Cheshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire, from places like Preston, Wolverhampton, Ellesmere Port, and Runcorn.
And what a year it’s been:
- 🏊 25,000 children had swimming lessons;
- ⏱️ 6,360+ hours of swimming lessons;
- 📅 212 teaching weeks;
- 📚 9,500 swimming sessions;
- 👨🏫 20 qualified Level 2 coaches and 30 trained lifeguards.
That’s six hours a day, five days a week – all made possible by the expertise and passion of our amazing team.
For many children, our pools were their first experience in the water.
From helping non-swimmers find their confidence to guiding pupils through essential water safety milestones, our mission remains clear: every child deserves access to swimming.
We’re incredibly proud of the impact we’ve made, not just on pupils, but on the wider school communities.
Teaching children to swim is not only a life skill – it’s a safety priority.
And this programme is a key part of the mission of our parent organisation, the EMPHASIS Foundation CIC, which works to support people of all ages and backgrounds.
As we wrap up for a well-earned break, planning for the 2025–2026 academic year is already under way.
