Sports Coaching Group 2025 review: Celebrating a year of growth, impact and community achievement

Our Tommy Tiger Time wraparound service is available across four of our parter schools!

The past year has been defined by growth, impact and a continued commitment to improving outcomes for children, schools and communities for Sports Coaching Group.

With a dedicated team of more than 100 colleagues, we have delivered high-quality sport, physical activity and enrichment opportunities at scale, while remaining focused on inclusion, wellbeing and development.

One of our biggest milestones this year was becoming part of EMPHASIS Community Interest Company.

This step strengthened our social purpose and was supported by a new logo and refreshed uniform, reflecting our shared values and long-term ambitions.

Alongside this, we launched a new Sports Coaching Group website, designed to make it easier for parents and carers to access information, book sessions and stay connected.

Our reach across education continues to expand.

During the past 12 months, we worked with more than 55 partner schools, delivering an impressive 24,860 term-time sessions, including PE lessons, lunch clubs and after-school provision.

During the holidays, 14,379 children attended our holiday clubs, with 6,203 children benefiting from free places and meals through the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme.

Sports Coaching Group’s wrap of our achievements in 2025.

Swimming remains a core part of our offer, with 13,082 children taught to swim, building confidence, safety and life skills.

Quality and staff development also remained a priority, with 200 observations completed by our Quality Control Team and 20 CPD days delivered to over 100 staff members.

We are proud that 15 apprentices successfully achieved their qualifications this year.

Beyond delivery, we organised 80 charity events and enrichment days, launched nine new wellbeing and enrichment programmes, and grew to 20+ partnerships, including becoming Association for Physical Education registered.

We even welcomed two new mascots – Tilly the Tiger Shark and Timmy the Tiger Parrot – to join Tommy the Tiger in engaging children across our programmes.

As we look ahead, our achievements this year provide a strong foundation.

With big plans for 2026, Sports Coaching Group remains committed to making a positive difference where it matters most.
