We have officially signed up as a Disability Confident Committed Employer under the UK Government’s Disability Confident scheme.
This important step reflects our ongoing commitment to making sure our workplace, and everything we do in schools, communities and sports settings is as inclusive, accessible and supportive as possible for everyone.
To achieve Disability Confident Committed status, organisations sign up via the GOV.UK website and agree to a series of key commitments designed to improve opportunities for disabled people and those with long-term health conditions.
At Sports Coaching Group, we have committed to:
- Ensuring our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible;
- Communicating and promoting vacancies in ways that actively encourage disabled applicants;
- Offering an interview to disabled candidates who meet the minimum criteria for the role;
- Anticipating and providing reasonable adjustments during recruitment and in the workplace;
- Supporting existing employees who acquire a disability or long-term health condition so they can stay in work.

As part of the scheme, we have also pledged to complete at least one specific activity from the Government’s recommended list that will make a real difference for disabled people within our organisation.
This might include providing work trials, apprenticeships or traineeships, from the Government’s approved list that will make a tangible difference for disabled people within our organisation.
For us, becoming Disability Confident Committed is about more than a logo or certificate.
It’s about reflecting the values that drive our work every day, inclusion, opportunity and respect.
We believe that diverse teams make us stronger, better and more effective in the way we support children, families, schools and communities.
We’re proud to be part of a growing network of employers across the UK who are actively working to change attitudes, remove barriers and ensure that disabled people can thrive at work.
