More than 20 coaches from Sports Coaching Group played a key role in helping to deliver this year’s Crewe and Nantwich School Sport Partnership Town Sports event, supporting hundreds of young athletes as they competed in one of the area’s most eagerly anticipated school sporting occasions.
The annual competition, organised by the Crewe and Nantwich School Sport Partnership, brings together primary schools from across the region to compete in a range of track and field events, celebrating participation, teamwork and sporting excellence.
The event has become a highlight of the school calendar, attracting thousands of pupils, parents and staff each year.
Sports Coaching Group deployed a team of experienced coaches across the event to assist with the smooth running of activities, officiating events, supporting schools and ensuring every child had the opportunity to enjoy a positive and memorable experience.
One of the standout stories from this year’s competition came from Gainsborough Primary School.
Competing in Group B, the school produced an outstanding performance to secure victory and, in doing so, earned promotion to Group A for the first time in its history.
The achievement was made even more special for Sports Coaching Group coach Poppy Jones, who was able to celebrate the success of her own former school.

Town Sports events provide much more than just competition.
They offer children the chance to represent their school, develop confidence, demonstrate resilience and experience the excitement of participating as part of a team.
For many pupils, it is their first experience of competing in front of large crowds, helping to create memories that can inspire a lifelong love of sport and physical activity.
As part of Sports Coaching Group’s continued commitment to supporting schools and enriching children’s experiences, the organisation has also offered every school taking part in this academic year’s Town Sports competition a free enrichment day.
The initiative will provide additional opportunities for pupils to access engaging activities, further strengthening the partnership between schools, coaches and the wider community.
Sports Coaching Group currently works with more than 100 schools across Cheshire, Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent and Shropshire, delivering PE, enrichment activities, competitions and wider sporting opportunities designed to inspire young people through sport.
