Families across Cheshire East can now secure places for the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme run by Sports Coaching Group, with bookings officially open for Easter holiday camps at six venues.
The #HAF scheme, funded by Cheshire East Council in partnership with the Department for Education, provides FREE places for school-aged children from Reception to Year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals.
Each child attending will also receive a free hot lunch and nutritious snacks throughout the day.
Exciting Easter activities for all
Running from April 7 to April 17, the #HAF programme forms part of this year’s Great Easter EGGS-PEDITION theme. Children will enjoy a mix of fun and enriching activities, including:
- Multi-sports sessions ⚽️
- Arts and crafts 🎨
- Team games 🎯
- Engaging challenges 🍽️
The six HAF venues available for booking are:
CHELFORD PRIMARY SCHOOL, MULTI-SPORTS
EDLESTON PRIMARY SCHOOL, ENRICHMENT DAY
HOLMES CHAPEL PRIMARY SCHOOL, MULTI- SPORTS
SANDBACH BOYS SCHOOL, MULTI-SPORTS
Teen leadership opportunities
This Easter, teenagers also have a chance to step into leadership roles alongside Sports Coaching Group coaches.
Teens participating in #HAF Teen will support holiday clubs by leading warm-up games, arts and crafts, and small group coaching – ideal experience for aspiring childminders, sports coaches, teachers, or nursery practitioners.
Each teen volunteer will receive:
- A short induction from the Sports Coaching Group team;
- A designated group to work with for the day;
- Food provided during the session;
- A Sports Leader T-shirt.
