Providing nutritious meals for children is one of the cornerstones of the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, and this October half-term, we delivered healthy, balanced food options that meet the highest standards.
Across our #HAF venues, children enjoyed a range of fresh, healthy meals designed to keep them energised throughout the day.
These included fruit platters to fresh salads packed with tomatoes, peppers and carrots, to jackets potatos with tuna, chicken tomato pasta and meatball in tomato sauce and diced potatoes.
Every dish was created to meet the national school food standards, ensuring children received food that was both tasty and nutritionally balanced.

According to official guidance from the Department for Education, #HAF providers must supply at least one meal per day (breakfast, lunch or tea), and all food – including snacks – must meet school food standards.
But the programme goes beyond simply providing food.
During the holiday clubs children were also informed them about the nutrutional benefits of the food.
This hands-on approach helps children make the connection between what they eat and how they feel – building healthy habits that last far beyond the holidays.
We’re pleased to support the #HAF programme’s goals of helping children eat well, stay active and learn more about nutrition.
The programme is provided thanks to funding from Cheshire East Council and the Department for Education.
