We are especially proud to partner with LFE (League Football Education) in delivering high-caliber academy football education.

Apprenticeships offered by Sportscape Education

Level 2 Community Activator Coach

The Community Activator Coach Standard will underpin occupations such as an Activator, Sports Coach, Activity Leader, Community Worker or Outreach Officer. The Community Activator Coach promotes, delivers and coaches fun, inclusive and engaging activities that help whole communities to change their behaviour, adopt and keep to a physically active lifestyle. Community Activator Coaches are more than activity and sports leaders – they understand communities and customers. They will be equipped with the specialist knowledge needed to effectively work with one customer group (such as inactive teenagers) but also be knowledgeable about other inactive customer groups whom they may be expected to work with on occasions.

The key role of a Community Sport and Health Officer (CSHO) is to initiate behaviour change in local residents with regards engagement in sport and physical activity across local communities. By working within and across local organisations individuals will scope, organise and coordinate the delivery of opportunities for local communities to get more physically active.

The role of a Personal Trainer is to coach clients (on a one to one and small group basis) towards their health and fitness goals.

This occupation is found in primary, secondary, special schools, alternative provision, and further education institutions such as sixth forms and colleges. Teaching Assistants work across all age ranges, supporting all learners.

An Outdoor Activity Instructor supervises and guides children and adults in activities and pastimes such as canoeing, sailing, climbing, surfing, cycling, hillwalking, archery, bushcraft, rock pooling, geology, plant identification, habitat or wildlife walks at an introductory level. They will be supervised while working in a limited range of venues and weather conditions following tightly defined operating procedures.

The Level 4 Sports Coach apprenticeship, aimed at advanced coaches for those in school, community, or high-performance sport environments, requiring a leadership role.

This occupation is found in outdoor sport, leisure, tourism, public health, youth work and education sectors. Apprentices are employed by charitable outdoor organisations, private and for-profit outdoor learning businesses, schools, expedition providers, social enterprises, etc. Outdoor Learning Specialists work within outdoor activity or education centres; outdoor adventure and activity businesses; expedition and sports tourism providers; early years, schools, colleges and universities; national parks, nature reserves and country parks; youth work and youth development organisations; health, wellbeing and social care contexts; and training and educational organisations.

Level One Award for Activators (Multi-Skills)

This qualification will allow learners to gain knowledge and skills to work as a multi skills – sports coach which will allow them to organise and run physical activity sessions!

This course can provide successful candidates with the perfect start to progress within the sports coaching and education sector.

Learners must be a minimum of 14 years old to take part in this course.

Units:

Unit One – How to activate participants through Multi Skills.

Unit Two – Understanding their role as an activator.

This course is designed to equip you with valuable skills that will help you succeed in various fields, including sports, education, and employment.

Through hands-on learning, you will not only develop your leadership abilities but also gain confidence in organising and leading sports and physical activities for others.

As a sports leader, you will play a crucial role in promoting fun, safe, and inclusive activities, so by the end of the qualification, you will be prepared to lead and assist in sports or physical activity sessions, whether in schools, local clubs, or online environments.

Your leadership will be supported and guided by your tutor.

On completion, you will be able to assist in leading sport and physical activity sessions under supervision.

Learners will gain knowledge on five employability skills and demonstrate leadership within the community.

24 guided learning hours

Age: 13+

Provides the knowledge and skills to coach multi-skills and how to enhance sessions with the principles of fundamental movement skills and fundamental sports skills. This is not a sport-specific coaching qualification.

27 guided learning hours

Age: 16+

This qualification will give you the opportunity to develop skills including being able to lead sessions for a variety participants.

60 guided learning hours

Age: 15+

(16 UCAS) points)

This is a one-day course which can be delivered to staff and students.

7 guided learning hours

Age: 16+
