At Sports Coaching Group, we believe in the power of sport to support children’s mental well-being.
This week, have been taking part in Children’s Mental Health Week, which runs from February 3-9 2025.
Organised by children’s mental health charity Place2Be, this year’s theme – “Know yourself, grow yourself” – focuses on helping young people develop self-awareness and resilience.
Our dedicated coaches have been delivering engaging, active sessions across schools and community venues, ensuring children stay physically active while benefiting from the positive impact of structured play and teamwork.
Physical activity is proven to boost mood and by keeping children moving, we’re helping them develop confidence, social skills, and healthy habits that support their mental well-being.
One of our key focuses this week has been encouraging teamwork and communication.
In our team sessions, children are learning to work together, overcome challenges, and celebrate each other’s successes – helping them develop key life skills.
Our swimming lessons are also making a difference.
Many children start with fears and anxieties around water, but with our patient and skilled instructors, they gain confidence, face their fears and achieve personal milestones.
These small victories contribute massively to a child’s overall well-being.
By providing a safe and supportive environment, we ensure that sport is more than just a game – it’s a way for children to express themselves, grow, and feel good about themselves.
Sports Coaching Group is proud to support this vital campaign and keep kids happy, healthy and active.
